Overview

A boutique camp of eight, custom-designed luxury safari tents, Lolkisale Camp in the heart of Tarangire National Park is at once barely there and entirely distinctive. The spacious tents blend seamlessly into the remote and secluded location, inviting resident wildlife to wander freely. Yet, inside, guests are treated to unabashed comfort and elegance, from plush king-size beds and designer furnishings, to outdoor showers and wide front porches for optimal game viewing.

On the edge of an open wetland, the camp is privy to the drama of nature as it unfolds. Nearby in Tarangire National Park, buffalo crash across the river, more than 550 species of birds wing through the sky and herds of elephants amble along unfettered.

Tents

The boutique camp has paid careful attention to every detail, from the soothing color palette to locally woven rugs. Each chic tent has ensuite facilities, indoor and outdoor showers, hot water available and mosquito netting draped softly over the beds. The front porch is ideal for wildlife viewing, while screen walls welcome in fresh breezes and birdsong.

Amenities

Guests at Lolkisale may gather in the open-air common lounge area under billowing canvas walls and ceiling. Open to the plains, it’s a restful spot for a glass of wine from the curated South African wine list or a cup of arabica coffee before a fresh, locally sourced meal in the open-sided dining tent. It’s large and airy, suited to those who wish to dine in private in a quiet corner or indulge in a convivial, family-style meal. All drinks and meals are included.

Game drives with professional guides on the East African plains are readily available, taking guests out to witness Tarangire’s elephants, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe, cheetahs, lions and more.
