Overview

Located in a private concession on Tarangire National Park’s eastern boundary, the all-inclusive Nimali Tarangire offers the quintessential Tanzanian safari experience. A juxtaposition of natural materials and contemporary décor, the lodge is tucked alongside a riverbed amidst acacia and baobab trees. While guests feel firmly rooted in their destination, they never need to sacrifice comfort. With devoted personal service to just eight suites and exclusive game viewing far from the crowds, this is the private safari experience discerning travelers crave. Intimate guest areas are set along the riverbank, which is dry for much of the year, allowing the opportunity to come together or enjoy quiet seclusion.

Tents

The lodge comprises eight elegant, tented suites, including two for families. Each suite has a private deck overlooking the riverbed and ensuite bathrooms. The larger family suites offer two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a connected lounge area and a private plunge pool. With a nod to the natural surroundings, décor throughout the suites is replete with artisanal crafts, natural materials, rich textures, local fabrics and recycled glass accents, creating a calm and relaxing sensory experience.

Amenities

Guests may gather in the lodge’s main area, which includes a spacious lounge, central dining area overlooking the swimming pool and a waterhole that attracts wildlife, providing natural entertainment. A library area contains a selection of safari books to peruse in between game drives.

Meals are served in the main dining area, on private decks, by the swimming pool and in the bush. Private champagne bush breakfasts can be arranged.

Beyond morning and evening game drives, activities abound. Hot-air ballooning, Maasai community visits, fly and bush camping, children’s activities, spa therapies and wellness treatments and private day trips to Manyara and Ngorongoro (at an additional cost) can all be arranged.

With a setting on its own reserve, Nimali Tarangire allows for certain activities, such as night drives and walking safaris, not offered at camps inside Serengeti National Park.
