Within this well-loved former homestead just outside the bustling safari town of Arusha, elegantly rustic cottages are dotted along the river and within thick stands of tall trees. Nearby, local villages, national parks and nature reserves beg exploration. The lodge is located in the Mt. Meru foothills and boasts a majestic view of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Guests stay in individual cottages that offer privacy and calm for visits of any length. Each cottage was designed with forethought and care and furnished uniquely. The inn’s footprint, navigating riverine nooks, bends and leafy groves, allows each cottage its own sense of place.

Tried-and-true family favorites grace the menu, as well as crowd-pleasing wood-fired pizzas. Guests may choose to dine in the gardens under tall shady trees, overlooking the river or by the fireside indoors in the atmospheric old Farm House. Coffee lovers enjoy the rich brew grown locally in volcanic mountain soil, befitting the inn’s former life as a coffee estate. The restaurant and bar are open all day.
