Overview
Hidden within the golden landscape of Morocco’s Erg Chebbi dunes, The White Camel Acacia Camp was founded by local hosts Jawad and Abdel, whose roots run deep in the region. This exclusive camp reflects their passion for sharing the beauty and traditions of desert life. With just five handcrafted Berber-style tent lodges, the camp offers a quiet ambiance in which to disconnect from the world and focus on being fully present in the desert.
Rooms
Accommodations at The White Camel Acacia include five spacious tent lodges, each of which welcomes up to three guests and offers a king-size or double beds with high-thread-count linens, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a private bathroom. Constructed using traditional Berber building techniques and adorned with handcrafted Moroccan furnishings, the tents include a Moroccan-style seating area that invites quiet moments for reading or journaling. Each tent lodge also features a large private terrace with sweeping views of the dunes of Erg Chebbi, an ideal setting for morning coffee, sunset reflection, or stargazing beneath the vast Sahara sky.
Amenities
Dining at The White Camel Acacia takes guests on an immersive culinary journey that celebrates the flavors of Morocco. Meals are crafted with local ingredients and recipes passed down through generations, from freshly baked msemen, warm bread, and mint tea to slow-cooked tagines and fragrant couscous infused with saffron.
The camp’s Desert Restaurant, set within its own canvas lodge, offers elegant dining with panoramic dune views, yet for more intimate moments, guests may opt for private dune dining. For these romantic occasions, a secluded table for two is arranged among the sands. Guests are encouraged to convene around the firepit in the evening for light bites, local wines, and conversation.
Each experience here is designed to connect guests with the Sahara, whether with a camel trek across the dunes, a guided 4×4 excursion, a visit to a nomadic family for traditional tea, or exploring nearby villages such as the Gnawa community. Lunchtime isn’t forgotten and instead enjoyed either in a nearby riad with a pool during warmer months or back at the camp, where the culinary team prepares authentic Moroccan cuisine.
