Overview
Nestled within an expansive orange grove in Rabat’s prestigious Agdal district, Villa Mandarine combines the charm of a traditional Moroccan riad with boutique hotel comforts. Set across nearly three acres and surrounded by more than 700 orange trees, the property feels like a private garden sanctuary. Despite this tranquil setting, the hotel is located just a short drive from Rabat’s celebrated landmarks, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the historic Kasbah of the Udayas.
Rooms
Villa Mandarine features 31 spacious, individually styled guest rooms and five suites. The Standard and Luxury Rooms offer generous space and loads of natural light while framing views onto the surrounding gardens, while the latter include antique furnishings, a private terrace or balcony, and in some cases, a private garden off the ground floor. Clementine Suites feature a separate living room overlooking the central patio and a bedroom with balcony views of the gardens. The spacious Grapefruit Suites include a living area with a sofa and a desk, as well as a bedroom with a terrace or balcony overlooking the greenery. Finally, the Mandarine Suite connects two bedrooms through a bright south-facing living room that opens toward the gardens.
All accommodations include air conditioning, heating, satellite television, internet access, a direct phone line, a minibar, and a digital safe.
Amenities
Gardens are at the heart of the Villa Mandarine experience. Flowers spill across pathways and terraces, climbing around the trunks of orange trees, and peacocks occasionally wander through the grounds, contributing to the beguiling oasis ambiance. Guests can relax by the hotel’s heated swimming pool, unwind on one of several sunny or shaded terraces, or enjoy a drink beside the fireplace during cooler evenings. The wellness area, Les Bains Romains, offers a traditional hammam, sauna, jacuzzi, and massage room, along with facials, manicures, pedicures, and more. A fully equipped fitness room features cardio machines and strength-training equipment.
Dining is led by talented chef Ivy Le Roux Dupeyron, who serves inventive, locally inspired cuisine alongside international favorites to please all palates. Guests may dine in the warmly lit, richly colored dining room, amidst its shimmering lights, or enjoy meals alfresco surrounded by flowering gardens and fragrant citrus trees.
Outside the hotel, guests have easy access to the city center, the shopping district of Hay Riad, the Kasbah of the Udayas, the renowned Dar Essalam Golf Club, and sandy Atlantic beaches and surf schools, making it a peaceful, elegant base for discovering Morocco’s capital.
