Overview
Built in Chile and fully remodeled in 2012, the M/V Skorpios III is the perfect vessel for exploring the austral landscapes, fjords, and glaciers of Chilean Patagonia. Its well-appointed interior and up-to-date technology allow passengers to travel to these remote regions in comfort and ease.
The Skorpios III is a 70-meter A1 Ice Class rated vessel, meaning it has access to iced waterways that are off-limits to other ships. Its 4.2-meter draft is ideally suited to navigating the Chiloé, Guaitecas, and Chonos archipelagos, as well as the fjords of Patagonia’s stunning Lake Region. Best of all, its experienced crew of stewards, guides, and doctors helps passengers get the most from their Patagonia voyage, both on board and during excursions ashore.
Cabins
The Skorpios III offers a total of 45 cabins distributed over five decks, each with a different combination of king, queen, and twin beds. Passengers can choose from master or junior suites, as well as double or triple standard cabins. Since nearly all cabins on the upper four decks have two portholes facing outward, you’ll have abundant opportunities to observe Chile’s wildlife and glaciers from the privacy of your room. Private showers and toilets are also standard, as are plasma TVs and safety-deposit boxes.
Common Areas
The Skorpios III’s on-board amenities cause it to feel like a floating hotel. They include an elegant dining room with large windows for panoramic viewing (as well a skilled chef preparing international cuisine), an open-air fitness center, and two café-lounges for gatherings. There’s also a games area and a lecture room for educational talks by the ship’s resident guides. Deck areas are maximized to allow passengers to go topside during good weather.
