Pioneers Lodge

Overview

Just close enough to the thunderous Victoria Falls of Zimbabwe, yet far enough removed to offer an oasis-like setting to return to after a day of adventuring, Pioneers Lodge thoughtfully combines Old World nostalgia with new-age conveniences. Guests of the 50-room lodge are treated to lush grounds and manicured gardens, spacious rooms with classic detailing, and a central gathering area to come together and share safari tales. Conservation is at the forefront of the lodge’s mission, seen throughout the property in solar panels, and off property through support of local wildlife charities, anti-poaching, essential research, and anti-litter projects in the Victoria Falls region.

Rooms

Each of the 50 generously sized rooms at the lodge are large and tastefully decorated, with furnishings placed for soothing views of the garden. Multiple electrical plugs, good lighting, air conditioning, fans, room safes, mosquito netting, and tea/coffee-making facilities ensure comfort throughout the stay. Ensuite bathrooms contain a shower, toilet, and double vanity. Four family rooms are available.

Amenities

At the heart of the property, guests gather at the serene lounge and indoor dining room. Alfresco meals can be taken on the expansive, garden-view terrace. A large breakfast buffet kickstarts the day, followed by light lunch options and an a la carte dinner menu. Cold and hot beverages, as well as local craft beer made from Zambezi water, are available at the saloon-style bar. Each afternoon, the staff sets up complimentary tea and coffee service with a delicious treat from the kitchen.

WiFi is available throughout the lodge so guests may keep in touch with family and friends at home and upload their favorite vacation photos. Two swimming pools, a day spa offering massages and nail treatments, a TV room, and a meeting room round out the property.
