I would like to thank you very much for putting together a tour that they say was WONDERFUL!!! Everything about it was perfect, very professional and very high class…they loved it!!! I will tell anyone who listens that you are the company to go to for these types of trips. We’re just back from our Patagonian adventure and wanted to say thank you. Absolutely everything worked out perfectly, and we rate this as one of the very best vacations of our lives! We were well cared for at every step, and consistently impressed with everything: Santiago day tours, transfers, lodging (especially Tierra Patagina – WOW!), excellent food & wine, activities and outstanding guides at both lodges in Patagonia, and of course, the spectacular scenery. We are now trying to figure out just when we can return. Thanks again for all of your help in making this “bucket list” trip a reality that exceeded our (high) expectations.

We just wanted to say thank you for organizing such a fantastic trip to Peru. The entire trip was seamless. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable and always on time. Rivolino in Cusco was a walking encyclopedia and a joy to spend 3 days with. We have traveled extensively but I would put this trip up there with some of the best. We would highly recommend your agency to anyone looking to travel to South America. I am sure we will use you again. Best regards,

Thank you for arranging our fantastic trip to Peru. We marveled at how well it was organized. The itinerary and your added suggestions were excellent. The private excursions were especially appreciated; the guides and drivers went to extra efforts to help with Hanne’s ailing hip. They were very well acquainted with parking-lot and waiting-line shortcuts and tricks. Machu Picchu was the our main objective, but there is so much more; the expansive countryside; the history and architecture of the cities; the life style in the villages; the delicious food and outstanding accommodations. We were a bit anxious about the trip into the rainforest; if the heat, humidity, mosquitoes, or weather would be a problem, or if we could keep up with the pace. None if these were an issue; we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Peru is quite a country; they have much to be proud. We will share our experience with all around, and will definitely recommend you and SAvacations. Thanks again.

We got back from our vacation to Santiago and Easter Island, Chile last Sunday. I thought I would let you know how wonderful the trip was for us. The hotels used were superior. The rooms, service and food at the hotels were wonderful. The guides at both places were the best we have ever had lead a tour on our travels. Thank you for your help in planning the perfect vacation. It was lovely to be able to spend our 47th wedding anniversary on Easter Island.

I wanted to let you know that Mike and Caitie and I just got back from our trip to Chile. We had an absolutely incredible vacation! Every aspect of the trip went very smoothly. We were able to get an early check-in at the Hotel Torremayor Providencia on Sunday, April 10 which made our life so much easier. The guides in Santiago all were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and we particularly enjoyed Victor.
The Alto Atacama Desert Lodge and Spa was truly impressive. The food was superb, the setting was beautiful and eco-friendly and everyone there was so gracious and helpful. The tours were wonderful and I especially want to commend one of the tour guides, Marjorie, who was very good.
As much as we loved Atacama, Easter Island was the highlight of our trip. The setting and location of the O’tai Hotel was wonderful and we enjoyed the grounds very much. The room was about what we expected…nothing special, but very clean and comfortable. However, it was our tour guide, Sophie, who really made the trip so special. Her command of the English language was impressive but more than anything, it was her knowledge and passion for the island that we will always remember. If you can convey our appreciation for her services to the appropriate person, we would very much appreciate. We haven’t uploaded our photos yet, but we’ll send you some when we do. Thanks again for all you did to make this such an enjoyable trip for us!

Martha was a pleasure to work with, right from the initial travel ideas, through the various changes in itinerary, all the way through to the finished product. She was very knowledgeable about Peru and was able to build an itinerary specific to our family and our individual needs during a busy travel season: Christmas. Locally, SA vacation’s partner, Viajes Pacifico were also wonderful. They were very knowledgeable of their local history and were pleasant and courteous to deal with. They obviously have an excellent reputation within the industry, as we were made to feel very special when accompanied by a guide in a grey fleece or yellow polo shirt. Even when a mix-up occurred with our bags (they were meant to arrive at our hotel in the Sacred Valley and waiting for us when we arrived separately from Machu Picchu), we were able to find someone at the Viajes Pacifico office who promptly dispatched our luggage to us within 3 hours even though it was Christmas Day. Peru is a beautiful country and we hope one day to go there again.

Happy New Year. We had a great trip. Impressed with all the people and places we were and how efficient the process was of getting us from place to place. We liked the mixture of excursions and days off. All three generations were entertained. Our tour guide in Arenal was excellent, very informative and enthusiastic. We were a little surprised by the amount of rain in the dry season, but it was warm rain. Dreams Mareas was luxurious and catered beautifully to our multi-generational family.
Our trip home was a bit fraught because of weather and delays but did not spoil our trip. Our sheep managed to wait until we got home to present us with twin lambs and despite the awful weather here in the mountains of NC while we were gone, we were spared major damage. Thank you and we will not hesitate to recommend SA Vacations to any one considering a trip south.

My husband and I have recently returned from a wonderful holiday in Chile, organized by the very efficient and helpful South American Vacations. It was a great itinerary and worked perfectly. First we flew to Easter Island from Santiago and were spell-bound by the mysterious Moai statues. We stayed in a simple but charming hotel with sea views, breakfast and dinner included. After 3 nights there and private guided tours of the fascinating island, we flew the 5-hour journey back to Santiago and the next morning flew down to Punta Arenas and on to Torres del Paine in Patagonia. Wonderful mountain scenery in the national park. The hotel was lovely. 4 days later we picked up an expedition cruise, a small, luxury ship and went right down Patagonia, past lots of impressive glaciers, as far as ‘the End of the World’, Cape Horn. The tour ended in Buenos Aires. It was altogether a memorable vacation and we would like to thank S.A. Vacations for organizing it all so well. We felt the all-inclusive package was value for money.

I would like to thank you soooo much for all the work that you did plus phone calls from me in putting our trip to Ecuador and Peru together. We had a wonderful time.!!! At every stop, the guide and driver were there to meet us; they were friendly and professional; and our city tours were worthwhile. The three star accommodations were very nice as well as on ship in the Galapagos and in the Peruvian Amazon. We had many grand adventures, made new friends, and have great photos!! I have already recommended your company to friends. Thanks again,

Also, thank you for arranging for me to get to the hotel and for letting me know what flight to take had I missed my flight. It was really scary for me as they told me in Toronto that I would miss it. Also, I had the experience in Frankfurt of missing my flight to Verona as the airport personnel held people back from leaving once we got off the plane. That was really terrible for me as I had a friend waiting for me at the airport. Anyway, connecting flights can be like that at times. However, all worked out well and I did catch the flight even though the plane was boarding as I ran up to catch it.
I will be in touch with you in future should I go to the Galapagos and Machu Picchu, or anywhere else you could recommend. Have to save a bit of money first.
Thank you once again for your great service. Please thank your husband as well.

Just to let you know that Tom and I had an incredible time on Easter Island. We were thrilled to see so many Moai, and our guide Noe made us understand so much about the history of Rapa Nui that we had a hard time leaving! The Iorana hotel was also a terrific hotel and we loved watching the sunset and stars every night. We will recommend your agency if any of our friends choose to take this awesome trip!

Just wanted you to know that everything went smoothly on our vacation to Santiago and Easter Island. The tour guides from CTS were pleasant and all pick ups were on time, the Lan flights were great, and Easter Island was a dream come true. So thanks again, and we will definitely be in contact. What I’d really like to do next is a cruise on the Amazon coming in and out from the Brazil portion, with maybe Rio thrown in for good measure. But that probably wouldn’t be until 2016. We met and traveled with the nicest people in the world! All of the meet-and-greet connections were impeccable. Our hotel stays were fantastic; the hotels were steps away from main attractions and easy walking/sightseeing when we were on our own. The staff in each of the hotels went beyond helpfulness – they actually cared that we had a wonderful experience. Our guides were all fascinating and extremely knowledgeable – they made every effort to complement history with culture and give us a feeling of what it is like to live in their country. We saw a show, a musical history in each of the countries, that was professional, beautifully costumed and thoroughly entertaining. We traveled on/in every type of conveyance imaginable and it all worked like a well-oiled machine – LAN and TAM were great airlines – again, every effort was made by the personnel to assure our comfort and experience. Last, but not least, the food was amazing at the restaurants and shows included in our tour. Thank you for providing us with an itinerary that was truly an experience of a lifetime!

We are home and everything went great. Every step of the way your people were there to pick us up and get us to where we needed to be. Wish I would have found you last year, I would have booked our trip to Peru from you. Loved Easter Island, the hotel was nice. Lisa the manager/owner was wonderful. I am back from my whirlwind trip to South America and I had a wonderful time. I would like to thank you both for the excellent coordination / planning of all the services provided to me during my tours. I truly had a wonderful time and did not face any inconveniences at any point. Truly, it has been a memorable dream trip. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of services provided by your agents in South America – from the airport transfers to hotels to the tours. I have no complaints and was happy with the services offered.
I will definitely share some photos with you of my trip (currently still recovering from the jetlag). Highlights of my trip was visiting Iguazu Falls, Machu Picchu and Amazon Jungle…they all surpassed my expectations. The dinner / dance shows were excellent, especially the tango show in Buenos Aires.
Thank you once again. I sure will return to South America one day, as my wishlist to that continent just got bigger. Best Regards.

From start to finish everyone has been extremely professional, courteous, patient and so very accommodating. All of the tour guides provided were very knowledgeable and took the time to answer any questions we had, they made sure not to rush us when we stopped to take photographs (and even took many for us) and took lots of breaks when they noticed my parents were tired. There was some apprehension on my part regarding the language barrier, but they all made sure to go into each and every airport to make sure we were properly processed and made sure we always sat together and in some cases even checked us in, in advance and got us our boarding passes. Although all of the guides were amazing, Carlos in Iguazu Falls, Hector in Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu/Cusco, & Matua in Easter Island deserve special mention.
The hotels were great as they were central and usually within walking distance of good restaurants and supermarkets. They were very clean and the hotel staff friendly. here wasn’t anything on this trip I would change. There was lots of things to do and see, but also plenty of time for rest and relaxation. Kudos to South American Vacations for putting together such a well-rounded & varied itinerary. I would highly recommend your company to any friends or family wishing to visit South America. This is the second time that I have used your company to plan a South American Vacation. When traveling in a foreign country, I feel more comfortable being met at the airport and driven to the hotel, dinner, tours and entertainment. The tour guides that we had in Brazil and Argentina spoke excellent English and were very courteous and always on time. Thanks for setting up a great tour for us. We actually enjoyed the falls more than Rio. We must have taken thousands of pictures.

All of the tours and transfers were very well organized with prompt pick up at a designated time. The tour leaders were all very professional, knowledgeable and fun to be with. The small van/buses we were transported in were in great shape and comfortable and with safe drivers.
Cusco is a very pretty city at 11,000 plus feet. Acclimating to the altitude should be noted. The restaurants in Cusco are great as are the Churches and other notable structures. The tours in the area including the Sacred Valley were wonderful with Indian artisan markets full of colorful hand crafted goods and a great lunch in Pisac. The train ride up the Urubamba River to Aguas Calientes was relaxing and scenic, about four hours. Aguas Calientes is a cute town with a huge artisan market and good restaurants. Then up to Machu Picchu by bus.
Machu Picchu is all and more than expected. The incredible structures and stone work by the Incas in this remote site is amazing to see. The history of the area is very interesting. The hike up Huayna Picchu is challenging and an elevation gain of about 1,000 feet above the ruins. However, there are fixed cable lines and railings in most of the more difficult sections. The view is spectacular. We also went to the Sun Gate and the Bridge, both fun to see if you are up for a couple of hours of hiking.
Then off to Quito and the Galapagos Islands. Quito is a very large city and not far from our Swissotel was a fantastic outdoor market and also a great covered market full of Ecuadorian beautiful crafts.
The Galapagos Islands are very different than anything you will ever see. The lava islands have an amazing history with equally amazing creatures. The Giant Tortoises are impressive and for people who love bird watching, there are so many unique ones to see here. We were on the 210 foot La Pinta which is the cream of the crop as far as the ships go. Only 48 passengers, so the boat has a smaller feeling with a great staff and fantastic food. Also, the briefings about the islands were very comprehensive and educational. We were there in their spring so the water was cool and the sun was in and out.
Our trip went flawlessly and we thank South American Vacations for this wonderful experience. If you are looking to travel to these destinations you should definitely consider South American Vacations.

It has taken me a long time, but I wanted you to know the trip you planned for us this fall to Rio, Iguazu Falls and Buenos Aires was great! Almost everything went like clockwork, we were able to make small adjustments along the way, and we enjoyed every minute. Rio and Buenos Aires were each interesting in their own way. But by far, the most spectacular was Iguazu Falls – thundering waterfalls all around us, creating rainbows everywhere we looked. The Amerian hotel there was the best, and so was our guide, Maria Leal Prono!
This is the second trip you’ve planned for us (Peru was the first in 2008), and we tell all our friends that using South American Vacations makes traveling easy and fun. Thanks again, and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
