Custom-built for Antarctic cruises in accordance with the latest Polar Code specifications, the Magellan Explorer offers a striking combination of contemporary design, comfort, and sustainable technology. For travelers seeking luxury as they tour the world’s southernmost destination, this 73-passenger vessel affords a truly exceptional experience.
The Magellan Explorer is a 298-foot cruiser with 38 passenger cabins. Its rooms are perfect for family travel, while its expert crew is trained to provide a personalized adventure for the ship’s Antarctic voyagers. And of course, the craft uses sustainable practices at all times to protect the South Pole’s one-of-a-kind ecosystem.
The Magellan Explorer offers seven distinct types of accommodations, from single rooms to deluxe veranda cabins to spacious triple suites. Nearly all boast floor-to-ceiling windows with private balconies, and with the exception of single rooms, all have twin beds that can be reconfigured as one king- or queen-size bed. Wardrobes, individually controlled heating, sitting areas, private bathrooms with showers, and heated floors round out the list of amenities, guaranteeing your voyage is personalized and comfortable.
The Magellan Explorer affords a variety of resources in its common areas. These include a glass-enclosed observation lounge, a dining room with panoramic windows, a meeting area with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, a sauna, and a medical clinic. When you’re not out exploring, you can read up on wildlife species in the library or work out in the deluxe gym, designed by Anytime Fitness, the only fitness company with boutique gyms on all seven continents. Best of all, the forward-facing observation deck opens onto the ship’s bow, allowing guests a perfect vantage point to spot marine wildlife. The ship also is equipped with a fleet of 10 Zodiac boats for on-shore adventures.
